Before Your Call

- Check your background โ Ensure nothing personally identifying is visible behind you
- Trust your instincts โ If something feels off, you can cancel or end the call anytime
- Keep personal info private โ Don't share your address, workplace, or other identifying details
During Your Call
- You control the conversation โ End the call anytime by clicking the hang-up button
- No recording allowed โ Recording video calls without consent violates our Terms and may be illegal
- Stay on the app โ Don't move to other platforms (WhatsApp, Instagram) until you've built trust
- Report concerning behavior โ Use the report button if someone makes you uncomfortable
Red Flags to Watch For
Meeting Offline
If you decide to meet someone in person after video chatting:
โ Do:
- Meet in a public place (cafรฉ, restaurant, park)
- Tell a friend where you're going and when you'll be back
- Share your location with a trusted contact
- Arrange your own transportation
- Stay sober and alert
- Keep your phone charged and accessible
- Have an exit strategy (friend who can call with an "emergency")

- Go to someone's home or invite them to yours on the first meeting
- Let them pick you up or take you home
- Share your home address

How to Report
If someone violates our community guidelines or makes you feel unsafe:
In-App Reporting
- Go to the user's profile
- Tap the three dots menu (โฎ)
- Select "Report"
- Choose a reason and provide details
- Submit the report
The user will be automatically blocked, and our moderation team will review within 4 hours.
Email Reporting
For serious safety concerns, email us directly at [email protected] with:
- The user's profile name
- Description of the incident
- Screenshots (if available and safe to share)
- Date and time of the incident
Common Scams to Avoid

Someone you've just met asks for money, gift cards, or financial help. Never send money to someone you haven't met in person.
๐ฑ The "Move to WhatsApp" Scam
Someone quickly asks to move the conversation to another app. This is often a tactic to get your phone number or move you off our safety monitoring. Stay on Ten Minute Date until you trust them.
๐ The Catfish
Someone refuses to video chat, has inconsistent photos, or their story doesn't add up. Trust your instinctsโif something feels off, it probably is.
๐ The Link Scam
Someone sends you a link to click. Never click links from people you don't know. They could be phishing attempts or malware.
Account Security
- Use a strong password โ Combine letters, numbers, and symbols
- Don't share your login โ Keep your account credentials private
- Log out on shared devices โ Always log out when using public computers
- Report suspicious activity โ If you notice unusual activity on your account, change your password and contact us
